Day Ten - One Picture
I chose this picture for several reasons.
1. One of my biggest dreams was to be a Marching Ballerina. The first time I saw them, I thought they were all so beautiful, talented, and graceful. I dreamed of the day I could audition, and waited for 5 long years. When the day finally came, I had a torn hip flexor and the flu. But my determination was too strong. I am proud to have been a part of an organization with so much history and tradition. Although, some don't see it that way anymore. More on that later. Once a Ballerina, Always a Ballerina!
2. College. A big chapter in life. Away from home. On your own. I did a lot of growing up those years. I learned to stand up for myself (a little, anyways) and to fight for what I want.
3. My body. I was is the best shape of my life! Between daily practice, kick warm up, and laps around the Coliseum, I had a rocking bod. Let's just say, "I was sexy, and I knew it!" I am working to get that body back, or as close as I can anyway. I highly doubt I can look 18 in a bikini again...
4. Ed. Although he is not in the picture, he is in the stands. Our long distance relationship made it. He was there for every kick and every applause. I mean every one! I am so thankful to have a Hubby who supported my dreams and still helps me with my goals today!
5. Performing. There is no other high like it. For me, anyways. I have always battled with self-cofidence. But when I was performing in front of a crowd, whether it was a small, high school exhibition, or the packed out Georgia Dome, I was on top of the world. Some days, I really miss dance.
I hope you have enjoyed my Blog Challenge. If you didnt know me well, you got a quick and dirty synopsis of me. If you did know me, you just had to face the facts all over again. I hope you stick around to check out the ramblings and thoughts that cross my mind.
