13 Weeks |
Nugget is the size of a Peach |
Once again, I am behind. I am honestly surprised I have kept up with it this long. However, now that I am almost 14 Weeks (tomorrow), I will be actually writing about my 13th Week!
I still haven't had any major symptoms, other than fatigue. I can tell that my appetite is slowly coming back, and hopefully, the weight will come sloooowly back too. Haha. I still have a craving for chocolate milk. Lately, I have also been craving Chick-fil-a. I put away a 12 piece, large combo in a hurry a few times this week. I have been subconsciously on the lookout for any movement. From what I have heard, it can feel like gas at first. This could pose a problem. My stomach is rumbling and tumbling almost 24/7. I think I may have to see an elbow stick out before I am 100% sure. I did have a small bout of heartburn on Wednesday night. We had spaghetti and garlic bread. I actually ate quite a bit, and when it was time for bed, it was still playing around in my tummy. Oh, and I have had some very interesting dreams. Well, maybe my symptoms are starting to stack up.
I had my first official, "Are you pregnant?" question. She was hesitant to ask, but she did. I guess I am finally getting out of the "fat or prego?" stage. Yay!
Our next appointment is May 3rd. I have been doing some more research (told you I was a Google queen), and I have read that many people can identify a gender at 14 Weeks. I will be 16 Weeks at our next appointment. Obviously, if you are having a boy and can get a great shot, it would be pretty easy to tell at that point. But, if it is a girl or a not such a great shot, you couldn't be positive. It is slightly killing me that I "could" possibly know at our next appointment. However, I am sticking to my guns, and will have a Gender Reveal Party. The plan is to have Mary take a peek at the 16 Week appointment. If she has a pretty good idea, I just want a yes or no. Then we will use the next appointment (20 Weeks) as a confirmation. I also plan on scheduling the appointment for a earlier day of the week. That way, if Nugget is stubborn, we have a few extra days to get a definite answer for the Gender Reveal Party. I have a Gender Party Idea post that is ready to go, and I will be posting it sometime this weekend.
Not much else is happening in the Clark House. Nothing new in the nursery. I may prime the rocker and bookshelf this weekend. If I am really feeling wild, we may putty the walls and get ready to paint. I am pretty set with the bedding. My Mom has been on the hunt for fabric that is a little cheaper and plans to make the bedding. I just haven't seen anything that really impresses me.
I am supposed to pick up a Moby Wrap today. I found it on an Online Yard Sale. I am only paying half of what it would cost new. The mother said she tried it once and wasn't a fan. From a Smoke/Pet Free home, sure I will take it! Does anyone have any reviews to share? From what I have read, you either love it or hate it. The biggest complaint is the actual wrapping. Apparently, it is very long and takes some practice to use. I thought this would be a great idea because I have decided to go with the convertible car seat. I will need something to carry Nugget around once we are out of the car. I think it looks really snugly and comfy, especially for a newborn. It can adapt and change styles to fit much bigger infants. Not so sure I will want Nugget strapped to me when he/she is a flailing 6 month old, but it will be useful for a while.

I decided to skip the "bucket." I was hesitant only because if Nugget falls asleep in the car, which I know is a frequent occurance, then you just take out the seat and he/she can keep sleeping. It just seems to be a practical, frugal purchase. I have chosen the Britax Boulevard. It will fit Nugget from 5 up to 70lbs! I was leaning towards the Chicco Keyfit 30, but saw numerous comments about infants outgrowing them as early as 4 months and just being ready for a bigger, rear-facing seat. I chose a black carseat, Onyx for a boy and Zebra for a girl. It is a good possibility that we will have a spare carseat for backup or Ed's truck, but I have several people who have said that we could borrow their older children's car seat. That will save us from buying another one!
