29 Weeks |
I did intentionally slack this time. I decided since I threw in the 28 Week Appointment in last week's blog (which was really the only thing interesting), that I would just combine Week 28 and 29. I feel like my pregnancy has been rather boring! Each week, I ramble on and think next week something exciting will happen. It probably is a blessing that nothing exciting has happened. So, here what we have been up to....
I can still be thankful that I am not dealing with some of the nasty symptoms of pregnancy! I hope the few remaining weeks will follow suit. Little Miss has been moving like crazy lately. I wish I could see exactly what is going on there. It feels like she is having a good time! I have noticed that she likes to kick at me. Anytime I rest my arms, hands, or other objects on my belly, she tries to kick them off! I still have had very little movement above my belly button, so I guess she hasn't decided to changed position yet. We will find out on the 14th at our 4D Ultrasound! The baby bump is also in full force. And I love it! I always thought that the baby bump would be one of my favorite parts of being pregnant. I was right!
Another thing that is in full force is my appetite! I can put away some food. The other day, I picked up some groceries and had already gotten into them before I made it home. I live less than a mile from the grocery store! I have had a couple friends ask about what kind of cravings I have had. I always say that I haven't really had any. I am beginning to think that is not true. I think that breakfast foods are my cravings: cereal, pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits, and toaster strudel have been my favorites. I could eat them all day, everyday. I find this slightly odd because I have never been one to eat breakfast. I can kill a box of cereal, by myself, in two days! I actually just had about four bowls of Captain Crunch before I started blogging. While we are talking about food, the results of my Glucose Test came back negative! Yay! So, I celebrated with my second favorite food group these days: Ice Cream.
There is another consignment sale going on in the area. I have become all about consignment. I volunteer, will consign, and I definitely shop! This time volunteering was a little tougher. I did the same thing that I did at JBF, but I can tell being farther along does wear on your body a little more. I signed up for my Universal Consignor Number. I cannot wait to start tagging! I love a good deal, and being able to buy gently used clothing and items for a great price brightens my day! It also is great to make a little money selling your own gently used items. My plan is to always buy Hadley's clothing a season ahead. That way I can take advantage of the consignment sales and also great deals in the retail stores. I don't want to pay full price for anything! Unless, of course, I see something she just can't live without!
I told myself that I wasn't going to shop at Kid's Zone until the 50% Sale this weekend.....so far, I have gotten an infant car seat, some receiving blankets, and some bibs. Oops. However, the car seat was actually a great deal! I was going to borrow a friend's "bucket," but I didn't want her to feel pressure to upgrade her children to bigger seats just so I could borrow it. So, when a friend found this great deal, I couldn't pass it up. I got a Chicco Keyfit 30, which is one of the seats on my picky list, for $40! Retail is almost $200! I completely took it apart, scrubbed every hard surface with alcohol (even used a Q-Tip for the cracks), and washed every cloth piece. Good as new! Now, we have a backup that is ours. I plan on reselling it once she grows out of it for a nice stroller. Did I mention I love consignment sales?!
Last time, I mentioned to calm before the storm. I have a strange suspicion that September will be the start of "The Storm." Let's just take a look at the calendar: Our Maternity Photos are scheduled for the first, the fourth is the First Day of School, the Eighth (Haddie permitting) we will be traveling to JSU for, most likely, the only game this season. It is fitting that it is Band Day, and also they will be playing UTC! And the ninth is the tentative date for my Baby Shower. All this is within the first ten days! Oh, and I will be six weeks away from my Due Date! Whew.
Thinking about all that is coming up is already wearing me out! I have been taking advantage of my free time. These Olympics have turned me into a couch potato. I just lounge, watch events, and snack. But, as Megan says, "That's OK. You're pregnant." Thanks for stopping by! I will leave you with an eCard that pretty much sums me up the past few weeks...
