10 Weeks

10 Weeks
Nugget is the size of a Prune

Hello, double digits! I am a quarter of the way done! The past week has been exciting; not so much for Nugget, he/she has just been along for the ride. Let's see if my baby brain can recall some events....

I can tell that we haven't had a break from school in over a month. Usually, the school calendar is set up so that there is at least one day a month off from school. Not true for March! We haven't had a break since President's Day. I can feel it, and I can tell that the kids need it too!  There is light at the end of the tunnel: Spring Break is in 5 days!! My body is definitely in need of a break. I can tell that I just don't have the stamina I used to. Today, Ed had to make a trip to Atlanta (more on that later), and so I was up and awake when he left at 7am. I went back and forth from watching TV and cleaning the house up until around 10, and then I got ready for the Gilbert kiddo's birthday party. I met Christy at 11:45 and set up for the party until 1. Then, we partied and I stuffed my face until around 4. Came home and crashed until 7!

I had a small bought of a new symptom this week. After my cleaning spree  last Saturday, I think that I flared up my back and caused some Posterior Pelvic Pain. I have never had back issues, and this stunk. It hurt to walk, and this is a BIG part of my job description. The small flat area under my dimples and right above my crack (sorry) ached constantly. Anytime I had to use my right leg, it would send a dull ache down my leg. I even got stuck laying on the couch one night. Every way I moved, would send that pain right through me. Thank goodness, Thursday was better and by Friday, it was completely gone. I learned my lesson, for sure.

I have also had some Baby Brain. I got my hair cut on Thursday because these prenatal vitamins are doing wonders for my hair and nails. I got my change ($70), tipped my stylist, and walked out to my car. The next morning, I leave for work and head for the gas station. There is not a single dollar in my wallet! Uh-oh. I had to drive to work and back on fumes! I took my wallet apart and searched high and low in the car to make sure that I didn't drop it. Nowhere to be found. As a last resort, I checked the house when I got home after seeing the Hunger Games. Hours of searching pants pockets, hoodie pockets, couches, etc., I find it......laying on the coffee table. Yay! The next morning, I get ready to go to the consignment sale, and now I can't find my wallet! Seriously?! My guess is that I left it under my seat at the movie. I have checked cars and the house, no luck. I stopped by the theater and they didn't have it either. So, someone took it or someone put it back in a weird place. Hopefully, it has popped up over the weekend. If not, I have got some cancelling and things to reorder. Great.

As mentioned earlier, I got my first taste of consignment sale shopping. Thanks to an early pass from a friend, I got in on the first day of the half-off sale. It was great! I can tell that it will be a million times more fun once we know if Nugget is a boy or girl. I managed to find a new pair of maternity jeans and a maternity top. Can I just say that maternity jeans are the most comfortable thing on Earth. I am not ashamed to say that I rocked them today. I also found a few gender neutral items...

It is so exciting to actually buy things for the baby. I can't wait to know if I will be adding more pink or blue to the mix. So, I got 9 onesies/outfits, maternity jeans, and a top for $20!! I love consignment sales!

Ed's trip to Atlanta today was because his father is having some heart issues. He's had heart problems since Ed was a little boy. A couple heart attacks, fluids around his heart and lots of stints and blockages. They will be doing some tests tomorrow to see what the next step will be. My mom had her own hospital stay due to a condition in her intestines. But, she is home and on antibiotics.

With Spring Break around the corner, I plan on starting the nursery. We have a 3 bedroom house, but because it is older, there is no storage. We don't even have an attic. There is an access hole in my closet, but it is sealed off, and I am not about to crawl up in an 80 year old black hole. So, deciding how to fit Nugget in has been challenging. We have our bedroom. Ed has a Man Cave, which is where his closet is. The third bedroom is the office/storage room, and this room has the smallest closet known to man. The storage room has a TON of windows, which could be an issue for naps, but if we use the Man Cave for the nursery, then Ed will have clothes in Nugget's closet. So, this will take some logistical planning.

I have a feeling this week will be just as interesting. We have our first field trip on Wednesday to the Zoo, and then Friday we are doing Easter festivities because Easter will take place before we return from Spring Break. Hopefully, I can make it 5 more days.....
