Ok. I had planned to do the list of questions from Week 8 as my weekly blog, but that was already getting redundant. So, I will attempt to rack my brain and fill you in with all the events in my own freestyle version.
The biggest symptom I have had so far is definitely fatigue. I have always run a little low on energy due to the fact I have struggled with anemia and low iron levels my whole life, but this is a new kind of tired. It is beginning to interfere with activities that I enjoy. I did not visit one consignment sale this past weekend! I even went through the trouble of getting early passes for most of them. So, I am sure you can imagine what my house looked like if I was neglecting things that I actually enjoy. Laundry piles. Dirty dishes. Take out boxes. That is just the tip of the ice berg. However, I did have a small jolt of "nesting" Saturday, and miraculously got this house back in order. Thanks to that clean sweep, my lower back was screaming at me all day Sunday. I have heard that the second trimester is like getting a "second wind." I am definitely looking forward to that. I mean, I only have four weeks to go. WHAT?!? Yep. Four weeks until my second trimester. Wow.
I previously had an appointment scheduled for the next Wednesday. We were going for the first round of genetic testing and to check for neural tube defects. I really only agreed to this optional appointment because I wanted the extra ultrasound. However, I had the feeling that I should just cancel the appointment. For a few different reasons. One, it doesn't really matter what those tests say. From the beginning, with all the uncertainty, I have said what ever happens, happens. No reason to change that now. What ever those tests would say, that baby would be loved either way. Another reason, probably the most logical, is that our insurance is poo. Total poo. Only a small portion of the bloodwork and testing would be covered. I don't see the need in paying extra money for something we don't "really" need. I did ask when my next ultrasound would be, and like I thought, it technically wouldn't be until 20 weeks! However, the receptionist said that Mary was cool, and she would probably let me take a peek anytime she wasn't busy. My next appointment is during SPRING BREAK! I can't wait!
Still not too much going on around here. I have been planning some logistics for the Gender Reveal Party, looking at nursery inspirations, and other things like that. We do have names picked out. I will be keeping those secret for a little while longer. Unless you are one of the few who I have already told. Your lips are sealed too! I feel like time is going by a lot faster now, and like I am showing super early. I have been comparing my belly to friend's prego pics. Maybe my pre-baby pooch is causing this. Oh, well. I still don't really feel pregnant. I can't wait to start feeling some "flutters" in a few weeks....
I've also heard that pregnancy gas is super awful. lol. If my gas is bad now... :/ I miss you btw I need girl time.
