Haddie is the size of a Pumpkin |
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! This week has gone by even slower than the previous one. I wasn't sure that was possible. I even kept losing track of what day it was! I did get some exciting news at this week's appointment. I will share those details a little later. This may be a short post, then again, I could wind up rambling. So, here goes.
Swelling as been almost non-existent this week. I think being home and not on my feet all day has helped with that. She has been stretching, poking, and jabbing like crazy! I keep telling her if she wants more room that badly, she needs to pack up and move out! Haha. I am still confused about the whole BH contractions. I "think" I may have had some, but I really have no clue. I also think that I am feeling slightly more pressure in my lower abdomen. I don't think she has dropped much though. It is obvious from all the "thinks," that I really have no clue.
As mentioned, I got some exciting news at this week's appointment. All the usuals checked out well, and I even managed to lose those extra two pounds from Week 37. I knew it was all those cupcakes and cookies that I had eaten before my previous weigh-in! I got to take a quick peek via ultrasound. Mary was checking position on all of her patients. Haddie is a good girl, and is still head down. We also were able to see her practice breathing, which is a great sign. And for some reason, she was smacking her mouth like crazy! It was pretty comical. She was bashful, and kept hiding her face. So, we didn't get a very good glamour shot. I think I did see some chunky cheeks though! Her fluid level also looks good. Mary is not a self-proclaimed ultrasound tech, so she wouldn't tell me a weight. Sadly. I am still stressing about that.
Being the list/schedule-ly person that I am, the wait and see game is not working for me! So, I asked about a "gameplan." Here is where it gets exciting. Mary said to come back Monday (I will be 39 Weeks), and she will check me. If I have made progress, then we will be discussing options for Thursday! Whoa. Just got real! Monday happens to be my birthday, so I am hoping for the wonderful birthday present of dilation. I have been taking suggestions as to how to aid with this goal. Use your imagination.
Part of the reason I chose Mary was due to a recommendation from a friend and her mother, who is an L & D nurse at the hospital I will be delivering at. I was told that the "best nurses" will be working Monday through Thursday of next week. So, perhaps I can sweet talk my way even sooner! I guess it all just boils down to what kind of progress I have made come Monday. If she does arrive on Thursday, she would have a pretty cool birth date: 10-11-12! I will most likely do a quick post on Monday with all the details. Hopefully, it will be a great birthday!
This week, I kept slightly busy with the remainder of my hard core cleaning list and small projects here and there. I also got all of the bills taken care of until the end of the month. I really didn't want to be calling to pay the cable from the hospital bed. I have nothing else interesting or exciting to share. Planning to finally put up My Hospital Bag post later today. So, stop by again and be sure to check back Monday for an update.
